The Post-Bath Crazies

21 commentsDoes your dog go batty after a bath? Our current pack includes one resident bath hater. Sola absolutely despises me for a day after every bath, but you wouldn’t know it by the way she tears through the house after we dry her off and set her free. I’ll do my best to capture one of her episodes on tape the next time she is forced to endure the indignity of a good scrubbing, but today I would like you to meet two dogs who do a fine job of speaking for all of the bath haters out there.
Sally is a whirlwind – if ever there were a video to represent what most of us see after a dog washing, this is it. Nothing truly remarkable happens, but this video is priceless because for the first time ever, someone has captured the music that all of our dogs must be hearing in their heads as they run amok in an attempt to shake off that fresh, clean smell.
Our second guest is a standout for one very clear reason – he’s the voice of every poor pooch subjected to bathing torture, and he has a lot to say…
If that first video is the music going through my dog's head after a bath, she will NEVER get a bath again. I only listened to a couple seconds! ACK!
In the second video the dog is clearly saying, "Get that clean stink off of me!"
Baffs are the worst ever. Right?
Haha! We go nutty after our baths for sure. It is the perfect time to play attack the towel and make gremlin noises!!

i've got no problems with the bath, but my big sis asa likes to run around and slide into the carpet afterwards. heeheehee.

I feel their pain–especially now that Old Girl tries to BLOW DRY me after the bath! That really prevents me from getting my stink back on!
LOL, LOVE it! Billy does the RUBS all over my good bed quilt though, "sigh"
Funny, hairy apres-spa-treatment movies! Amazing that a generally-water-loving lab would stay P.O'd at you for at least a week in dog time!!! Lucky for us that Sam likes the treatments heheh!

Chester got a bath last Thursday and apparently could not handle the nice smell any longer. He acted like that first dog only it was in a field that had a nice sun-baked covering of manure on it.
(He got a soapy washcloth taken over him when we got home.)

Weeks of collecting all those wonderful smells wiped out in a few minutes of human indulgence.

Buffy races to dry himself off on the couch or Jan's bed after a bath or when he got wet in the rain.
Heehee. Mom pays money to people so she doesn't have to hear us weep and wail and gnash our teeth!

Mom used to have a little white cockapoo who did the same thing as that little one in the first video – total cracker dog after a bath.

I know Chico doesn't like baths but he tolerates them at least. The last one I gave Shiver, he curled up in my lap afterwards and just cried and cried. I want to give my dogs another one but it's been too cold out lately. Have to wait for it to warm up first. (Shiver hates the hair dryer and tries to bite it so I have to let him air dry.)

I always hear the music to "Get Your Freak On" when Blueberry comes out of the bath, but the lyrics change to "Get your stink on!" She's a riot and a half after a bath!
Oh no….now if you put the two together, that would be G'dog!
Jersey must be some sort of freak. She's the only dog I know that runs TO the bathtub when I say the *B* word.
Ellie LOVES going crazy….and if I take her outside after a bath she runs so so so fast around the yard! Luckily she doesn't roll around…just runs.
