Slum Dogs
This strikes into stark contrast the differences between countries as one considers the state of animal rescue issues. I can’t help but wonder if mass transport to wealthier countries is somehow possible. I’d be happy to spend the rest of my days with a pack of mutts. I’d wager that there are another 1000-1500 Americans out there who share my sentiment.

That is unbelivable. We have never seen so many dogs (&houses) in one place before. Sad. Mommy says “if she ever gets another pooch” it will be a rescue.

I guess there are international issues or something, but rescue dogs move around the U.S. all the time. Lots of the dogs in rescue are not in the states where they were found or surrendered. So, I’d guess it’s possible in that way, but the red tape involved in anything international might be insurmountable. It’s an idea, though.

Woof! Woof! it is so sad. it is hard to watch the video. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
We get dogs from other countries all the time, galgos from Spain, and dogs from the Phillipines come most readily to mind. I would think that if someone wanted to help, it would be feasible. It sounds to me like they need a good sponsor to help them out with dog food!
Oh me oh my this breaks our heart….why is it some folks think it is ok to discard their pets just because…..

I wish I could have so many more. I’d like to help them all!

I would not be in favor of “mass transport to wealthier countries” – I think you would eventually substitute the conditions “there” for “here” as our own shelter and rescue facilities would be quickly overwhelmed.
UNLESS … those wealthier countries put a moratorium on buying pets until the adoptable pet population is absorbed. And I would be greatly in favor of such a move.
I wished we could take in more – oh well
What a sad place! It’s so hard for me to digest this piece of news and I really pity those dogs. What will their future be? Sigh!!!

or take the award…
beautiful blog!
keep shining!
I don’t even have sound on this PC and yet the visual alone is horrifying. Does anyone have a strong workable suggestion to a solution?
OMG—-Just heartbreaking!
These conditions are deplorable, and it is what I faceeveryday with Amazon Community Animal Rescue, Education and Safety (CARES) in Peru’s Amazon. One solution, instead of mass transit of dogs, is donations to reliable animal organizations in these countries. I would DIE FOR mass transport of modern dog kennels! Keep up the great blog!
So heart wrenching. I am a rescue only person. Wish I could adopt a few.
This breaks my heart, so many dogs not cared for, so called humans again !!!The shelters are terrible, but they are doing their best, I wish the world would bring in compulsory desexing, the problem will only get worse.
Thank you for ndoing a wonderful job…
