Handicapped Shelter Dog Gets New Wheels

Maxtor the handicapped dog

10 month old Pekingese pup Maxtor was hit by a car in Springfield Massachusetts last week. The accident left him paralyzed and unable to use his hind legs. T.J. O’Connor Adoption Center employees found a pair of wheels in storage and fashioned a wheelchair for the injured pooch, giving him a second chance at life. Vets say he’ll need some TLC but is otherwise healthy. He’ll be available for adoption by Tuesday.

I am happy that all is well but how on earth does a tiny pup that size get into the street!?

I agree with Roo, that little pup won’t be homeless for long!

    The OP Pack

Ha – that’s Mom birth city – lived there for 37 years!!! Poor pup, hope the wheels help him and even more importantly we hope he gets a wonderful home that won’t let him go play in the street.

It’s amazing how well animals function that we consider “handicapped”. I’m sure he’ll find a great home!
