Mary Cortani is a former Army dog trainer who started Operation Freedoms Paws, a non-profit that helps veterans train their own service dogs in Northern California.
Since 2010, she has personally helped more than 70 soldiers to find relief from the crippling effects of PTSD, and now the dog lover and community advocate has been nominated for CNN’s Hero award.
