Bradley Cooper may be a famous, good looking man with an infectious smile but it’s his love of dogs that makes him stand out to dog-lovers all over the world. If a new woman comes into his life, he says, without shame, “”She has to like my dogs. My dogs and I come in a package.”

Samson was a German shorthair pointer that Bradley adopted from a kill shelter just weeks before he was scheduled to be euthanized. Samson lived to be 13 years old and lived a life of luxury. Sadly, Samson passed away in 2010. To immortalize his love of Samson, Bradley had an enormous portrait done of his beloved Samson which hangs in his home today.

Bradley found Charlotte, a gorgeous Chow/Retriever mix, at an adoption drive in Santa Monica. “I fell in love with her immediately,” he shares. Bradley also travels with Charlotte, taking her with him whenever possible.

Bradley is currently looking for a new pet-sitter for Charlotte for those times when he can’t be home. Bradley has some very specific requirements. Willing to pay $30 an hour, the pet-sitter must not only walk and feed her on time, but they must know dog CPR and be willing to sleep in the same bed with her. As soon as he finds the right pet-sitter to help care for Charlotte, he wants to adopt another rescue dog.

Adopting a rescue dog is an act of love and it’s comforting to know that even the rich and famous know the importance of adoption.
