Dogsbutter Recall

dogsbutterWhen Sunalnd Inc. made a nationwide recall on several of its almond butter and peanut butter products because of possible Salmonella contamination, Dog for Dog issued a voluntary recall of all its jarred Dogsbutter.

Sunland initially recalled 75 almond butter and peanut butter products after 29 people reportedly contracted Salmonella-type illnesses in 18 states. Even though no animal illnesses were reported Dog for Dog voluntary recalled its Dogsbutter. “While no Dogsbutter products have tested positive for Salmonella, our No. 1 focus is ensuring the health, safety and well-being of dogs,” said CEO of Dog for Dog Rocky Keever. “We’d much rather be over cautious. We’re not knowledgeable enough in the peanut butter market, so we just pulled it,” Keever added.

The recall pertains to Dogsbutter products manufactured between the dates of May 1, 2012 through Septebmer 24, 2012. All affected products may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
