Dog with a Human Face Looking for a Home

Meet Tonik, the 11-pound, two-year-old dog that is part poodle, part Shih Tzu, and part… human?  Humans are hard-wired to search for human faces in everything from pieces of toast to abstract dots in a painting.  We’re biologically set up that way so we can recognize other members of our very social species.  We can blame it on our brains’ perception, but it’d be hard to deny that this dog does look incredibly human.  Or at least like a very furry Homo sapiens ancestor.

Tonik has been living at the Homeward Bound Shelter in Mishawaka, Indiana since he was rescued from a Kentucky kill shelter in 2011.  Despite the overwhelming interest, he still remains up for adoption.

Come on people; there has to be someone out there who will give this dog a chance and love him as he deserves; why is he being overlooked.???

I swear he could be the brother to my parents dog. Although ours is black, his brother was that color. His face looks just like it. I’d love to adopt him.
