Isabella and Isaac

Wherever Isaac goes, Isabella follows:  she is a seeing-eye dog for her Husky companion.  The pair were found wandering the streets of San Bernardino County, California on Monday, and need to be adopted together.

When Isabella isn’t nearby, Isaac cannot get around and gets nervous and scared.

“It’s just really remarkable how she’s always trying to be aware of where Isaac’s at and you know if he’s not right behind her, she’ll stop and wait for him to catch up with her,” said Lindsey Riggins of the Hermosa Animal Hospital. “It’s really funny, and just like I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

The tiny terrier and her friend were scheduled for euthanasia, but the STAND Foundation, which rescues neglected animals, stepped in and is looking for a home interested in a package deal.

“She keeps her eye on him at all times, like a little pilot fish.  There is a work relationship between these two and there is a love relationship between these two,” said Dan Guss of STAND.  “How they know what the other needs and what the other is saying — it’s amazing.  It’s like an old couple that’s been married for 60 years, and they just know what’s going on with the other person.”

It is unknown how long Isaac and Isabella have been together, or where they came from, but it is clear how much they love each other.
