San Francisco based retailer Bows-N-Ties are partnering up with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue to bring awareness to the need for senior dog adoptions. Each year Bows-N-Ties picks a charity to support and this year they are helping some fine elderly dogs dress their best and hopefully find homes.

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue was founded by Sherry Franklin in 2007. Their mission states, “That it is never too late for a new beginning.” The rescue focuses on senior dogs that need rescuing, taking in dogs that are seven years and older. “Muttville is often the call of last resort for many of these senior dogs who would otherwise be put down just because their age,” Muttville volunteer Patty Stanton explained.

Since its founding Muttville has rescued over 1,650 senior dogs. The shelter depends on volunteers and donations primarily. This year they are getting some extra help from Bows-N-Ties. The retailer set up a special photo shoot for some of Muttville’s residents. The dogs were outfitted in neckties, bow ties and other men’s fashion accessories. “It was amazing to see how much these little gentleman liked to wear fine neckwear,” said Bows-N-Ties founder Hendrik Pohl. “Without doubt, these are all very loving, and distinguished gentlemen with lots of charm. You would never think that some of them are already 10 years of age.”

Bows-N-Ties will feature one of Muttville’s lovable dogs dressed to their finest each day this week on their Facebook page. In addition they will feature the dogs on all of their social media channels. Bows-N-Ties hopes the photos will bring much needed awareness to Muttville. “We love the cause of Muttville, and we wanted to help draw awareness to this very unique shelter,” said Ashley Child, creative director of Bows-N-Ties.
