A dog is lucky to be alive after being thrown from a car that careened off a highway in Wyoming on Thursday.
Paramedics rushed to the scene after the female driver’s Escalade abruptly swerved off the road flew 30 feet down a steep ravine before landing on a bank of the Pioneer Canal near Laramie. The dog was hurled a clear 20 feet from the vehicle and landed on the opposite bank.
The unidentified driver was badly injured, but conscious and able to speak before being stretchered away. Rescue crews then hurried to assist the dog. He suffered a broken leg and wounded jaw, but miraculously, he was alive. Veterinarians from Animal Health Center were called, and inspected the whimpering dog before taking him to the health center.
