CoutureDogsHighRes 3If you are a dog lover you are no stranger to pampering your pooch. Our pets are family members and we treat them the same way we would treat our first born child. That’s way seeing pampered dogs on TV, on the street or on front pages of magazines and books is second nature to us.

Photographer Paul Nathan has captured New York’s best-dressed dogs in his book “Couture Dogs of New York.” This picturesque book features dogs, their owners, and the couturiers that create their one-off outfits such as wedding gowns, red-carpet-worthy ballgowns and tuxedos.

Nathan has attended “pawties”, “puptials”, “barkmitzvahs” and glamorous pet fashion shows. He photographed tail-waggers who get around in yellow cabs wearing matching outfits, Yorkshire Terriers in $500 beaded evening gowns, and doggie moms with walk-in closets for their fur children filled with enough designer outfits to rival any fashionista.

This coffee table book, showcases the most fashion-forward pooches with their favorite couture pieces. The book shows Manhattan’s “doggie world” where the city’s most stylish mutts get dressed to the “k-nines” even for a walk around the block.

CoutureDogs2Among the spoiled dogs featured in “Couture Dogs of New York” are shelter pets. These dogs have gone from rags to riches and they now participate in social events like fashion shows, fundraisers and dinner galas that benefit other shelter pets.

The book can be purchased for just $37.50 and a percentage of all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of New York. Life With Dogs fans (USA and Canada only) can go to http://www.accdistribution.com/us and enjoy a 40% discount (excl shipping) using the promotion code NYDOGS.
