If you and your dog are carrying a few extra pounds here is your chance to get fit. Banfield Pet Hospital and “Biggest Loser” trainer Dolvett Quince launched a pet-specific workout plan to tackle pet obesity through preventive care, nutrition and exercise.

130723-dolvettObesity leads to serious illnesses such as diabetes and arthritis, and it affects the quality of life not only in humans but our pets too. That is why Quince has come up with a creative exercise program that pet owners can do along their four-legged best friend.

“As a personal trainer, I am constantly motivating people to lose weight; however, my passion for fitness and nutrition doesn’t stop at the gym,” said fitness trainer, Dolvett Quince. “Overweight and obesity is weighing heavily on the minds of Americans and is impacting families across the country, including our four-legged friends. Leading a healthy lifestyle is just as important for our pets as it is for humans, which is why I created a program that pet owners can do with their furry friends to become more active and shed unhealthy weight!”

To help your dog join the fun and become more active Quince’s routines involves the use of dog toys. These will entice your dog to join you in your new workout routine and you will be spending quality time with your pet. Best of all, you will be helping your dog shed off those extra pounds.

The workout program is available for download at www.Banfield.com/fitness. You can learn how to do exercises like the “Plank Fetch,” “Shuttle Runs,” “Fetch Straight-Leg Sit-Ups,” box jumps, burpees and much more.
