Former NFL Coach Barry Switzer Saves Dog

switzer-dog1-e1375902905479 A Rottweiler puppy needed a hero when she was left in a van on a hot Oklahoma day earlier this week. She found that hero in former Dallas Cowboys Barry Switzer. The former NFL coach came to her aid and saved her.

Switzer spotted the puppy while he was walking into a store. She was in the back of a van with the windows cracked and he stopped to check on her. He waited for the owners to come out and offered to buy the puppy from them. Switzer then took her to the vet for a full checkup.

“I told the doc. I want rabies shots, check for worms, everything,” said Switzer. “They even clipped the toenails so it was a pedicure for her. She went to the spa.

Switzer is caring for the dog that he now calls Sassy, but he already has several dogs at his home and is looking to find a good home for her.

“I want some loving family who loves dogs and cares about dogs like I do to be able to have her,” said Switzer.

Dogs are a long-term responsibility, and it’s sad to see how easily some people give them up. Obviously in this case it was a good thing, but if people do not want the responsibility of taking GOOD care of a dog, they shouldn’t bring them into their family in the first place.
