Authorities say the woman and her dogs came across the bears near 7th Line, south of Highway 7, about two hours east of Toronto.

According to reports, one of the bears became aggressive and started to bite and maul the woman. Her dogs jumped into action barking and attacking the bears and eventually the bears were scared away.

The woman and her dogs were injured in the attack but fortunately they walked away with their lives. The woman was able to call police and medical assistance was dispatched to her location.

An ambulance took the woman to the hospital and doctors said her injures were not life threatening.

There is no word on the conditions of the dogs, or they were seen by a vet.

We hope our four-legged heroes are ding well.
