Nothing is scarier than learning your house caught on fire while you were away, but what could be devastating is that your loved pets were trapped inside the burning home. This happened to a pet owner in Beddington, Calgary, last Wednesday, but luckily his neighbor jumped into action and saved two dogs before they perished in the fire.

On September 4, 2013, a house in Beddington was completely destroyed in a two-alarm fire that took place around 3 p.m.

Neighbors witnessed how the house went up in flames and call 911. Roby Najmeddine was brave enough to risk his life to save his neighbors two dogs. Najmeddine knew the pets were alone and trapped in the burning home.

“Me and a bunch of guys went through the front of the house and there was dogs screaming,” Najmeddine told Global News. “There was window beside door that was open already. There was nobody, but there’s two dogs. I unlock the door, I took the dogs out.”

The fire destroyed most of the house within minutes and luckily Najmeddine and the pets exited before the roof collapsed.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze from reaching neighboring homes, but until today, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Thanks to Najmeddine no lives were lost in the fire.
