sistersTwo young sisters are doing their part to raise awareness and help stop puppy mills. The two girls set up a lemonade stand outside of their local pet store to help raise funds for Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Eleventh Hour Rescue is a New Jersey based non-profit that saves dogs and cats from death row in high-kill shelters. Alicia Mitas, 10, and her sister Claire, 6, adopted their dog Jenny from Eleventh Hour Rescue.

The young girls wanted to give back to the rescue that saved their dog, so they approached their local PETCO and asked the store manager if they could set up a stand outside the store. The manager, Jay, agreed and the girls set up their stand on two different days to raise money for Eleventh Hour Rescue and bring awareness about abused dogs from puppy mills.

The girls not only sold lemonade but baked goods, bracelets and their own art work to raise money for dogs in need. In total they raised over $106.
