Devastated, the pet owner started looking for his beloved pet, but she was nowhere to be found. A Facebook page called “Gabby Come Home” was started in an effort to raise awareness about the dog’s disappearance.

Flyers were posted around the neighborhood and tips started to come in.

According to The Capital, a friend of the pet owner, who was in charge of the rescue, said lots of tips came in through the organized phone tip line. However, one particular tip that came in via the Facebook page had promising results.

Twelve days after Gabby was stolen, she was reunited with her owner.

Team Gabby spoke with a young man who agreed to meet in a neutral place and turn over Gabby, and on October 30, 2013, search supporters showed up at the agreed place and watched from their cars as the exchanged happened.

A family friend, who Gabby new very well, was assigned to meet with the man and receive Gabby.

“She knows me, so she was excited to see me,” the friend said.

The tiny pet was cold and quivering, but overall she was in good health. Whoever stole her and kept her from her loved ones during those 12 long days took good care of her.

Gabby and her owner are glad they are together once again.
