- Companion Animal Clinic Foundation is a volunteer organization dedicated to eliminating the euthanasia of abandoned and unwanted animals in our region through affordable spay/neuter. They work with local veterinarians, rescue and adoption organizations, county governments and the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine to accomplish their mission.
- Fixxapet/Montgomery County Spay/Neuter Van is an innovative program in a rural area of NC in which volunteers pick up pets to be spayed and neutered from several locations in Montgomery County and bring them to a clinic for the operation. They greatly subsidize the cost of the operation for locals, with even greater aid for those on public assistance.
- Dr. Nancy Kay is a renowned author, speaker and veterinarian. She has written two books, “Speaking for Spot,” and “Your Dog’s Best Health,” both of which are about being an informed health advocate for your pet.
- Pet Rescue Rx is an online pharmacy in which 100% of the net profits go towards rescue groups or animal shelters of the consumer’s choice. Glenn Buckley, DVM and his brother, Scott, began this as a way to use their skills to make a difference in the rescue community. They are licensed in a number of states and are working on licenses with the remainder.
