After spending years with her owners, Barber, a senior, white colored, mixed dog, believed to be a Siberian husky, was surrendered to the Department of Animal Care and Control County of Los Angeles, in Gardena, Calif. The pet suffers from a large mass on her side and she is on constant pain. Animal lovers are reaching out to rescue organizations trying to find a group that will make sure this old soul doesn’t spend her last days in a shelter.
Barber was taken to the shelter on April 8, 2014. She was not spayed and little information is known on her previous life. Her owners had her for five years, and she spent most her time outside. She is not house trained, and it is unknown how she deals with other pets. She was surrendered because her owners couldn’t afford the costly medical treatments she needs for the growing mass.
A video has been circulating social media networks in an attempt to get her rescued.
The senior pet’s photograph has also been shared across different Facebook pages like Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, Save Our Roadie and The Kris Kelly Foundation.
After the image of the senior pet generated interest across social media platforms, and after various monetary pledges were made, The Kris Kelly Foundation stepped up to rescue the elder dog. Yet, as of today, Barber continues to wait for her guardian angels to come save her.
Our only hope is for this old soul to find the rescue and medical treatment she needs. She deserves to spend the rest of her life in a loving home.
