4.2.14 - Woman Punches Dog Outside Shelter1

The Colonial Heights Animal Shelter in Virginia is searching for the woman who was seen on surveillance video punching a dog inside her SUV right outside the shelter.  Though the quality of the video is poor, someone may be able to identify the woman with cornrows who has a German shepherd and recently got rid of five tropical fish tanks.  Please share for the sake of this dog!

The video was taken Monday night and posted on the shelter’s Facebook page.

“We need your help to identify this person,” the post read. “Someone dropped off five fish tanks full of fish at our shelter.  She also punched a dog that was in her vehicle.”

The fish have all been adopted.

The woman will be facing animal abuse and trespassing charges, for abandoning the fish tanks after hours.  Her vehicle appears to be a silver or gray Ford Explorer.

“The person appears to a black female 25-35 years old.  Her hair is braided in rows,” the shelter said. “The dog in the video is a German Shepherd.”

“The woman doesn’t deserve an animal if she is going to treat them like that,” said dog owner Danny Evans. “It sounds like she has anger issues. She needs therapy.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Master Officer Arehart at 804-520-9397.

“Please contact us if you can help us identify this person,” the shelter said. “The dog in the video will very much appreciate your help.”
