Marlowe was stolen during regular business hours from the Oregon Humane Society (OHS).  The two-year-old puppy had been missing since September the 16th, and thanks to a very detailed tip that was sent via Facebook, the dog has been recovered.

The tip was almost complete.  The person gave a name, address and phone number of the person that was thought to have Marlowe.  Police and OHS employees went to the address described, and brought Marlowe back.

Shortly after being vaccinated at three in the afternoon on the 16th, she disappeared.  She had just been put into a padlocked kennel with her litter-mate in a restricted area.  Usually, one needs a key card to access the area.

Spokesperson for the OHS, David Lytle said that there is absolutely no connections between the person found to have Marlowe and any staff at the OHS.

“Their hearts were broken when Marlowe was stolen,” said Lytle.  “Everyone was very thrilled when they heard she was found.”

Yesterday, Marlowe and foster mom Lisa Achilles were reunited at the OHS.  Marlowe seemed very happy to be back in her care.

“My husband and I spent a lot of time trying to get this little girl ready to go to a new home,” she said.  “And when I found out that she hadn’t been to a screen family, it was just devastating to me.”

The people found with Marlowe claim to have been given the puppy by some young kids at Lincoln Park.  The kids told the people that they had found her.  At this time, there are no further investigative leads in the case.
