On January 29, 2013, the Baltimore Police department received a 911 call early in the morning, it was a commuter reporting a lonely and scared dog walking on highway I-83. A squad car was dispatched and officers found and rescued the small sized dog.

In order to rescue the dog, the hero officers stopped traffic. After rescuing the pet, the dog was transported to Baltimore Animal Rescue & Car Shelter (BARCS).

Soon after, the lucky canine was reunited with his family. The pet had been reported as missing and if it wasn’t for the motorist who called authorities, the dog and his owners would have not been reunited.

The Baltimore Police Department tweetted the image and its happy ending.
