In our eyes there is no ugly dog, but Quasi Modo, a pit bull and Dutch Shepherd mix dog has won the title of world’s ugliest dog at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California.
Quasi Modo is a 10 year old rescue dog, found in a Florida shelter. It is believed his “ugly features” are due to a birth defect in his spine that led to dwarfism in his torso.
The ugly dog was lucky enough to be adopted by a veterinarian from Loxahatchee, Fla., who not only keeps his health on check but also spoils him rotten.
The dog’s biography on the contest website reads:
“My appearance can be a little unsettling to some ( I have had grown men jump on top of their cars to get away from me because they thought I was a hyena or Tasmanian devil) but once they get to know me I win them over with my bubbly personality.”
Quasi Modo and his owner won $1,500 when they defeated 25 other “ugly” dogs.
Congratulations to Quasi Modo and his original looks.
