Why would a first time marathon runner attempt to run the 2015 TCS NYC Marathon? If you meet Laren Parente you will learn that she is not and avid runner, but she is an animal lover and for the love of dogs (rescue dogs) she is willing to run 26.2 miles.

Parente is running with Team Animal League to benefit North Shore Animal League, and she is running in honor of all her family’s rescue dogs.

“I’m running not just to honor the dogs who rescued me, but for all the animals who are waiting to rescue a human,” said Parente.
