Benny was a death row dog – a dog at a shelter that was about to be euthanized due to overcrowding problems.  However, his holiday wish came true and he was adopted at the last minute, and his reaction to “being sprung” is absolutely adorable.

He had been staying at the Carson Animal Care Center in Gardena, California since November.  At only eight months old, he wound up at the shelter, and like many other dogs, was waiting for a forever family to come in and adopt him.

Before he was going to become another victim of the overcrowding that plagues most shelters, a family came in and did just that!  Benny was saved, and his Christmas wish came true!

In the video, you’ll see what has got to be one of the best reactions one could hope for from a dog that they were bringing into the family.  He is practically bounding out of the kennel, and seems to be stopping by the kennels buddies are in, and telling them about the good news.

There are many other dogs looking to have their holiday wish come true just like Benny.  If you are thinking of adding a dog to the family, we urge you not to shop, but to adopt.  Contact your local shelters, Humane Society chapters, ASPCAs and city pounds and find out what the adoption procedure is, go in, and get the best friend that every family needs.
