Imgur user riahriahbobiah never thought there could be a lifeless dog among old car parts found inside a cardboard box, but to the finder’s surprise, inside the box was a mangy, barely hanging to life dog now named Lily.

“At first I thought she was dead,” posted riahriahbobiah, “until she [the dog] saw me and her tail started thumping against the box.”

The rescuer new the dog was in need of medical attention and therefore reached out to animal rescue organizations who could help bring the sick dog back to health.

A veterinarian who examined the dog determined the loss of most of the dog’s fur was due to mange, and thankfully the skin aliment was something easy to fix with a bit of medicine.

Under the care of foster parents, Lily learned what love and a comfortable bed felt like, and since her rescue, she has experienced many other good things like toys, yummy food, walks and friends. All this probably for the very first time.

No one knows who neglected Liy to the point even the dog herself gave up on life, but thanks to riahriahbobiah, Twin Cities Pet Rescue and Lightshine Canine, the mangy pup now knows life is worth living and there are good humans she can trust.

Lily is not ready for adoption yet, but will be soon and will then get a chance to know what living in loving forever home feels like.
