In the mountainous region of Bhutan, a small country in the eastern Himalayas, was the scene for an amazing rescue of a dog that was almost completely covered tip to tail in mange.  The before and after pictures barely look like the same dog at all!

The dog was rescued by the Maya Foundation, or TMF for short.  They started calling him Tim, after the person that had rescued him from a life of pain and misery in the mountains, Tim Gorski.  They then brought Tim to their rescue center in Paro.

At the center, they needed to shave Tim almost completely.  He was so unbelievably infected with the mange, they didn’t have another choice.  He was given a red shirt to help keep him warm, and almost immediately after being shaved one could see he was feeling better.

After just two weeks, his skin was showing signs of improvement.  He was looking healthier, wasn’t so itchy and looked smoother all around.  Flash foreword to today, and Tim looks amazing.  His hair has come back in, and he is one happy and healthy dog today.

“This is how the world works, folks, through random acts of love and kindness rather than detachment and indignation,” Tim Gorski wrote in a Facebook post.  “I urge everyone to not simply walk by when you see an animal suffering.  Take the time.  Connect with the animal.  Make the call if need be, but do something.  Don’t just walk by feeling sorry or helpless because you are not.”
