Humans weren’t the only ones celebrating Friendship Day last year (August 7, 2015), dogs were too. Thanks to Italian automaker Fiat, 50 homeless dogs living in El Campito Refugio, an Argentinean animal shelter, found forever homes.

Last year the auto manufacturer ran a “Copilots for Life” campaign where the message they hoped to spread was a simple one. Lets help animals in needs find forever homes.

A running ad said “Fiat works to find their cars a home but there are other beings in greater needs of homes.” On Friendship Day the organization teamed up with the animal shelter to promote homeless pets and helped them move into loving permanent homes.

The dogs were pampered, groomed and made into awesome four-legged super models for a professional photo shoot. They became stars and their images were used as advertisement on Fiat’s website. You’d think the dogs were modeling the latest car models. No, they were modeling themselves.

On its website, the automaker replaced all images of their vehicles with photos of the dogs. Instead of listing car specs the site listed adoption details and everyone who showed interest was invited to meet the dogs.

On Friendship Day hundreds of people gathered to meet, play and spend they day with their possible new best friend. At the end of the day 50 homeless dogs went home with their new human best friends.
