An animal lover from West Eugene, Oregon wanted nothing more than to help dogs, but his economic resources turned his good intentions into substandard living conditions for 19 huskies, and they were surrendered to Greenhill Humane Society.

The man who started rescuing just a few dogs soon found himself overwhelmed when the unaltered four-legged family members multiplied to 19.

Even though none of the pets experienced physical abuse by their owner, the squalid conditions they lived in was no place for them. For several months the rescue organization worked along City of Eugene animal welfare officers to have the huskies rescued and removed from the property.

They all needed to be spayed or neutered and had to be treated for fleas, coccidia, giarda, and tapeworms. Some required dental treatments, one needed a leg amputation, and all needed to be socialized properly.
