Stray animals look for food in garbage piles. They put their lives at risk by eating rotten food or pieces of harmful objects like glass, rocks and plastic, and sometimes their lives are threaten even more when they get trapped in the garbage itself.

This hungry stray dog from India got his head stuck in a plastic jar. He was slowly suffocating to death, but thankfully a woman spotted him and called for help.

Animal Aid Unlimited answered that call and dispatched two of their volunteers to find and free the dog.

In the video you hear the crackling of the container as the dog breathes in and out. The men hold the dog down and cut a few slits in the jar to allow better air flow, then try cutting open the container’s mouth. Unfortunately they were only equipped with small scissors and couldn’t cut the jar. The only option was pulling it off the dog and freeing him from his plastic jail.

Once free and able to breathe again, the scared dog ran off. Thanks to the woman and rescue volunteers, the dog who could have suffocated is free and alive.
