Austin Clyburn is an outstanding animal control officer who works for New Jersey’s Woodbridge Animal Group. On March 1, 2016, the heroic man saw a dog drowning in frigid waters and without hesitating jumped in to save the pet. Hours later, the grateful Corgi mix officially thanked his hero by giving him a heart-felt, wet doggy kiss.

According to the group’s Facebook post, when Clyburn saw the dog struggling to stay afloat, he plunged in saving the dog’s life.

Both man and dog suffered from hypothermia and needed medical assistance after the rescue. Fortunately, a few hours under medical care was all they needed to get back on all – two and four – legs.

Clyburn later paid a visit to the dog at the veterinarian. As soon as the rescued pet saw his hero rescuer he jumped up and properly thanked him.

The eight-year-old Corgi mix was found wearing a collar and a leash, but no ID tags or microchip were found. Woodbridge Animal Group hoped to reunite the dog with his owner, but no update of a happy reunion has been posted on the page since March 1st.

We hope that since the dog was found with a collar and a leash, his owner has been looking for him since the accident happened. We hope they get reunited soon.
