South Side Street Dogs do their good work in Houston’s most dangerous neighborhoods, Sunnyside and South Union, working with the dogs that roam the area, hungry, injured, and scared.
Their Mission Statement, “Changing lives through action and awareness,” is one that Erika Emal and Sandro Gamez live each and every day as they rescue these forgotten dogs.  And as with many small rescue organizations, doing whatever they can to help these animals, even to the point of foregoing their own needs, they do what they can to raise funds. Sometimes, it is a special gathering. Sometimes, it is simply reaching out to their Facebook followers. Sometimes, it is selling T-shirts to support their selfless cause.
