Recently, The North Shore Animal League teamed with PrivateFly, a local private aviation firm.  The goal? Raise awareness about New York City area adoptable pets, and unveil their new Pets-on-Jets program. Created with travelers in mind who want to take their dogs and cats along for the airplane ride, PrivateFly’s program, sort of an Uber in the sky, is aimed to reduce stress for both people and pets.

It was an unforgettable year continuing our mission to Rescue, Nurture, and Adopt as many homeless companion animals as possible — as well as Educate future generations about the plight of shelter animals.
Because of the generous support of devoted animal lovers like you, we were able to find responsible, loving homes for almost 18,000 animals this year…and still counting. That includes 7,886 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens rescued from across the country and around the world. Our medical center performed 85,244 examinations, and performed 12,500 surgical procedures to injured, abused and neglected animals.
