Cutest campaign video ever? Quite possibly!

Newfoundland is perhaps better known for a larger, furrier sort of canine, so it’s exciting to see a diverse group taking this Canadian province’s politics seriously!

Finn is an Australian cattle dog. And he’s running for mayor of the city of St John’s.

We’ve seen animals as political candidates before, of course. And many of us believe they could do better than their human counterparts. Finn, apparently, is banking on that vote. Not surprisingly, he’s already proving to be quite popular as his campaign heats up.

And while his name won’t likely be appearing on the ballot later this month, he and his owner, Glenn Redmond, an animal trainer and stunt performer, are having a good time on the campaign trail.

“Finn’s a tireless worker,” Redmond told the Toronto Sun. “All cattle dogs are. He’s my buddy more so than anything but he’s trained for a bunch of different behaviors….”

Perhaps political leader will be his best role yet.

You see, Finn is an actor (not uncommon for candidates these days) and has appeared in both movies and on television. He’s hoping his campaign video, created by Garry Smyth, will showcase his leadership skills.
