GALESBURG, IL – Galesburg vet tech Lisa Noel has spent the last ten years rescuing, fostering and rehoming Newfoundlands. She has been responsible for the adoptions of more than a hundred dogs in that time. “They’ve been abused, been raised like livestock, have no socialization,” said Noel. “But, they’ve never given up on people.”

Now, as a gesture of appreciation for her work, an anonymous donor is making Noel’s dream come true by paying her way through veterinary college.

  2. This is amazing. I have to confess, my best friend (no longer) raises newfoundlands and st bernards. After years of going to dog shows to visit with her, ans hearing the stories that she and others told I said no more. I can’t go to dog shows. We had the typical breeder/rescue discussion but she could not get over that I wouldn’t go to dog shows to support her. We have not spoken for almost 2 years. Oh BTW she was not into showing breeding when we became friends 20 years ago. We were just both dog lovers. I still am……
