Ohio Church Offers Canine Services

Dogs and their owners attended services together for the first time at Brunswick First Christian Church Sunday morning. Pastor Steven and his dog Lily led the first ever “bring your dog to worship service.” The services will be held at 2 p.m. each Sunday in February and on the second and fourth Sundays in March.

While shorter than other services, the “Doggone Worship” still allows enough time for owners and their canine companions to spend a few moments in reflection and prayer without testing the patience of canine parishioners, and enthusiastic participants in the new “Doggone Worship” service say they hope it is here to stay. Said one attendee: “I just think it’s important to have your entire family at church, and I know a lot of  people consider dogs part of their family.”
