Cyndi Nowell says her son, Nathan, still struggles with the loss of his father to an illness five years ago, and finds constant comfort in the company of his dogs. Understandably, the young child is distraught at the theft of his best friend, and as word of the incident spread over the weekend, donations poured in from across the country to help establish a substantial reward for the return of the pup.

4-month-old Yogi was stolen from his yard on May 29th. Witnesses saw the dog nappers fleeing the scene in a white 2002 Maxima.

  1. That is so wrong….it’s an adorable puppy, but don’t steal doggies from little boys. That’s just not right. 🙁

  2. Shame no one was supervising the puppy when he was out in the yard…. I feel bad for the kid, but really, a completely stupid and avoidable situation.

  3. this is so sad.. I hope they find the dog because I highly doubt it was loving people that stole him. Considering the mix he is, I’m afraid for him. I hope he’s found soon. 🙁

  4. i think i know a punishment for these people! get a bunch hungry prison dogs and cover the perps from head to toe in meat… because these people deserve no less than that

  5. just perfect … hope this poor little thing doesn’t end up as bait – rotten SOBs who stole the puppy but someone should have been more vigilant in watching him

  6. Why did it take so long for this story to hit the LifeWithDogs and Facebook??? The puppy went missing May 29th! Surely hope he has been found by now – rotten SOBs to steal anyone’s dog.

    1. This report was just issued and it’s the first we’d heard of it – the bad guys got a big head start…

  7. Yes, I’m afraid what others have voiced is most likely the case: some scumbags will use Yogi as bait in dog fight training. Let’s all pray, seriously, sincerely, that he is found and returned, and from now on, just like little kids, you don’t let puppies play out front unsupervised!! (God does answer prayers offered for His 4-legged creatures!)

  8. @ Erin if people would not take things that don’t be long to them then we would not have to worry about it. Would you say that if it was a pieace of your property. In my yard I shouldn’t have to supervise anything especially my dogs.
