An emotional reunion took place Wednesday at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.

14 dogs from Afghanistan arrived and were greeted by the U.S. troops who grew to love them while deployed in Afghanistan. A joint effort between NOWZAD and American Airlines brought the dogs to the US, and the hugs and smiles said it all.

CBS 2′S Cindy Hsu was there to share in the joy when the stray dogs finally made it home.
