Bideawee 2013 Gala Celebrates its 110 Year Anniversary

Bideawee, the leading pet welfare and adoption organization serving metropolitan New York, will kick off its 110 year anniversary celebration with the 2013 Annual Bideawee Ball on June 17th at Gotham Hall in New York City. Hosted by Georgina Bloomberg, the event invites people and their canine companions for an evening filled with live music, dinner, dancing and a silent and live auction.

Honorees at this year’s annual Bideawee Ball include New York Live hosts Sara Gore and Jacque Reid for  their commitment to helping homeless animals and Goldman Sachs Community Teamworks for their ongoing volunteer commitment to Bideawee.

BAW Nurse with Dog 21Bideawee, which means “stay a while,” in Scottish, is among the nation’s oldest animal welfare and pet adoption organizations. Founded in 1903 by Mrs. Flora Kibbe, Bideawee has been providing shelter, care and compassion to homeless animals helping them to find their forever home for the past 110 years.

With facilities in New York City and two on Long Island, one in Wantagh, and one in Westhampton, the organization currently has over 500 volunteers and 96 employees. Through a vast array of traditional and innovative programs and services Bideawee accompanies pets and pet lovers throughout their entire journey through life together.

From return rates on adopted animals that are well below the industry norms, an Animal Hospital that has helped over 75,000 animals in the past 10 years, learning programs and pet therapy, to the treasured Pet Memorial Parks and pet loss support groups, Bideawee cultivates and supports the life-long relationship between pets and the people who love them.
