Race for the RescuesFor all you animal lovers who also love a good physical challenge or competition, there are two great “Races for the Rescues” coming up in Southern California, so mark your calendars!

The first will be the “Race for the Rescues- Los Angeles” on October 6th at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.  Participants can choose from various races including: Running/Walking a 5K, 10K, 1K dog walk or Kid’s Fun Run.

The second race will be the November 10th “Race for the Rescues-Orange County” at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California. Participants can choose from the same events and distances as mentioned in the “Race for the Rescues-Los Angeles.”

For those who are not keen on physical competitions or simply cannot make it, there is even a “couch potato race” option, basically registering to “be there in spirit,” so to speak.

The events are being coordinated by The Rescue Train, a no-kill California rescue organization working to end the euthanasia of pets and animal suffering via hands-on rescue work, education and awareness. The two races will benefit many other rescue organizations in Los Angeles and Orange County (to view a list of these organizations, click here), all working together to save many pets’ lives and find them forever homes.

So, come out and join other like-minded animal lovers to save a few lives while also doing something fun and healthy.
