Boulder was wandering the streets of Detroit alone, scared and in great distress. A resident saw him and immediately called the Michigan Humane Society Emergency Rescue hotline.

When the MHS team arrived, they saw that Boulder had a chain caught in his mouth.

Not wanting to risk injury to the dog by trying to remove it in the street, they brought him back to the shelter. A closer examination showed that a carabineer, clamped on his bottom jaw, was the reason the chain was stuck.

At the shelter, Boulder sat patiently as an evaluator gently removed the carabineer. His sweet and loving personality came out the instant the chain was removed.

He is currently available for adoption at the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care.
