If you visit this site regularly, you must be a pet lover. Maybe more specifically, a dog lover. All my life I’ve loved pets. So much so that growing up I insisted all of my stuffed animals were alive and part of the pets I took care of every day. Fast forward 30 years and my two dogs continue to inspire me to do what I can to help pets in need. It’s still a goal of mine to be a big part of a sanctuary…someday.

Pets Add Life wants to reward one lucky pet lover just for telling their pet story. Have you rescued a pet? Done something incredible for a pet in need? Share your story with Pets Add Life for a chance to win $5,000! The contest is open until January 3, 2014 at 11:59 PM PST.

Pets Add Life is a non-profit campaign established by the American Pet Products Association. The mission of PAL is to increase awareness of the bonds and other rewards associated with pets of all types. Did you know that pets get lonely and enjoy the company of other pets? And that studies show pets are good for our health? They can do everything from helping reduce stress to building healthier immune systems!

So, hug your pet. It’s good for you. And enjoy the season with this cute video from PAL:
