During guide dog training classes in 2012, Claire Johnson’s dog Venice became fast friends with Mark Gaffey’s dog Rodd. Soon the two dogs were inseparable and not too long after, Johnson and Gaffey were in love.

“During the training our two dogs, Rodd and Venice, seemed to know something we didn’t,” said Gaffey. “They were always playing together and nuzzling up.”

Last year the couple got engaged and this past weekend they were married. It was only fitting that Venice and Rodd be part of the ceremony. The two dogs were the ring bearers.

“I have no doubt that our guide dogs brought us together and helped me find my true love,” said Johnson. “Much like our two guide dogs, we really are best friends and soul mates.”
