A woman was caught on video punching a dog outside Colonial Heights Animal Shelter in Virgina and now shelter staff and police are looking for the abuser. Justice must be served and the woman needs to pay for her crime.

140407-WomanPunchesDogThe woman, believed to be African American, between the ages of 25- to 35-years-old, visited the shelter after hours on March 31, 2014.

On the video, the abuser was caught making an illegal drop off. She left five containers of marine life outside the shelter’s gates and she is then seen punching the German shepherd who was inside her Ford Explorer.

The fish were not discovered until the morning of April 1 and the video of the abuse was posted on the shelter’s Facebook page on April 2.

“We need your help to identify this person,” read the post. “Someone dropped off five fish tanks full of fish at our shelter. She also punched a dog that was in her vehicle.”

Police and local animal lovers want to make sure the pet is not in any harm. Authorities have opened an investigation against the abuser and are hopeful the public will help them make a positive ID. Once identified, the woman will be charged with animal abuse and trespassing charges.

Colonial Heights Animal Shelter is located at 301 Charles Dimmock Parkway, Colonial Height, Va. Anyone with information about the woman is asked to call Master Officer Arehart at 804-520-9397.
