Animal Lovers Save Emaciated Dog Found Near Grade School

Rescuers hope Buster’s abusers get apprehended and pay for the neglect and mistreatment he suffered.

Buster, is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier that almost starved to death, but thankfully, he was saved over the weekend when an animal lover from Ramsgate, England, found him near Dame Janet Primary Academy. The Good Samaritan took the dog home and cared for the animal over night, until the pet could be seen by a veterinarian the following day.

On January 3, 2015, the stray dog was taken to a vet clinic were professionals determined the malnourished dog endured neglect for months. That is the only way he could have lost so much weight. Thankfully, the staffie found help in the nick of time and he is expected to fully recover.

Thanet Animal Group (TAG) Pet Rescue welcomed the emaciated dog into their program and will be looking after him until the pet is ready for adoption.

Rescuers hope Buster’s abusers get apprehended and pay for the neglect and mistreatment he suffered. TAG representatives ask anyone with information to come forward to identify the criminals.

“If anyone recognizes the poor boy please let us know as we will be involving the RSPCA,” said TAG.

Busters has spent three days under veterinary care and he is showing signs of hope.

“[He is} eating well and did his first number two in the garden today so organs seem to be functioning well,” posted TAG on their Facebook page. “Busty needs wooly doggy coats to keep him warm. We would appreciate it if anyone can please donate one or two.”

  1. I couldn’t even yell at my dog! How people can make an animal suffer this way beats me. This breaks my heart

  2. When I saw the picture of this poor baby, it took my breath away. God – help him recuperate and enjoy the rest of his life.

  3. Yes, we all get angry at the person(s) responsible for this. Our anger takes away the focus of the post and how we can help the dogs. The article mentioned needing coats, but you didn’t mention possible sizes he might need. It’s difficult to judge by the pic what size he might be.

  4. that poor baby , just makes me cry, how anybody could be so cruel to a little one so helpless . Just look at that little face.

  5. My life sciences class rescued a dog way back when, with the help of a student’s parent. another parent adopted the dog when an owner couldn’t be found. The class got one day with the pup in the class. It was amazing how they were so quiet so as not to scare the dog any more than it already was. Hmmm, I’m thinking all classes need a class dog.

  11. instead of apprehended, how about shot? cheaper, and Buster can use the saved money to continue his recovery.

  12. Why did it take so long for someone to step up? Surely, he was seen by many before becoming so emaciated!
