Dog in Seattle Learns to Take Bus Alone

Eclipse is one smart cookie! This dog knows how to take public transportation to and from the local dog park!

How amazing is this?  Eclipse here is from Seattle, and is one amazing dog.  Eclipse has learned to ride a bus both to and from the local dog park, daily.  She knows exactly where to be and seemingly exactly when to be there to catch the bus.  Now that is one smart dog!

  1. I am really torn on this story, yeah it’s cute that the pup is intelligent enough to know it’s surrounding enough to know which stop to get off at. As a dog owner I would be weary of what could happen…

  3. it says in the story that hes close behind. He rides the bus with her but sometimes she impatient when hes talking and she gets on before him. So he gets on another bus and followers her

  4. This is scary. My dogs are my kids and I would never let them wander around without me. Something terrible could happen. In a perfect world, this would be cute. In our scary world, not so much.

  5. I can just hear it now! “Where’s the dogs owner?” “Isn’t this animal neglect?” and “what about the leash law?” people, just let the dog enjoy some fresh air! People are watching out for it ~ it’s all good!!

  6. When I would ride the bus in San Francisco with my dog “Al” he would board the bus first and choose an open seat for us.

  7. This is such an awesome story about an awesome dog! It also tells you how great the transit system is in Seattle! Wish we could say that in San Diego!

  8. Heard about this on CBC this morning. I only hope that the regular bunch of ‘officials’ don’t ruin the little bit of magic that Eclipse generates during her bus rides by banning access to the transit system. Little things like this make life a bit easier to bear and it would be such a shame if the publicity ends the bus rides for this very cool canine.

  9. DOGS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! But I would be really afraid that my baby will get hit by a car or taken by a bad person or something……..

  10. I say let him ride! He makes people happy and he knows where he is going! I have a chocolate lab. He’s a lover of ALL mankind, unfortunately. He’d just go with whoever called him. Not very loyal, but I love him.
