Morgan Bogle from New York City has not seen her beloved four-year-old dog named Sugar since Feb. 23, 2015. She trusted her dog walker, Tommy Doerr, with her pet’s care, however the man had a breakdown and Sugar went missing. Doerr says he experience “an unexplained psychotic episode,” but Bogle says the dog walker traded her pet for drugs.

According to the New York Post, Bogle traveled to London on a business trip and left her pit bull under Doerr’s care. One of Bogle’s neighbors texted her on that February day to inform her that her dog walker was outside her apartment door shouting and kicking. Bogle sent a friend to her apartment, and after entering the residence, the dog walker was found behaving erratically and hiding behind a trash can.

Police were called and Doerr was removed from the residence. According to court papers, the pet walker was “detained by the police who had allegedly searched him and found him in possession of a controlled substance, believed to be PCP.” Bogle says sources informed her the dog walker had traded or sold Sugar in exchange of illegal substances.

Sugar has become an online sensation after her owner started a social media camping with the hashtag #FindSugarNYC. The pet owner has used Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to spread her message and hopefully reunite with her pet. There is a $10,000 reward for anyone that finds Sugar and returns her home.

The pet owner is losing hope of reuniting with her pet. Last month she filed a lawsuit against Doerr where she hopes a judge will order the dog walker to return Sugar or pay $10,000 in damages.

Doerr claims he can’t remember what happened to the dog when he experienced the ” psychotic episode.”
