Hero Woman To Pay Fees for Saving Dog on Train Tracks

Animal lovers are criticizing the metro line for penalizing the hero woman for doing what they were afraid to do – risk their lives for the live of a dog.

In Lima, Peru, a young woman became a dog’s hero after she jumped into the train tracks to save the pet from getting run over by a train. However, her heroic actions will now be penalized and the woman will have to pay fees for breaking the law.

According to local reports, the dog entered the train station with his owner even though the pet was not a service dog. The companion pet accidentally fell over the edge and landed in the tracks, and because of the height of the train’s platform, the dog was unable to jump out on his own.

In a video posted on YouTube by user Ray Ramos, we can see how train security responded to the incident. The video shows a guard using a two-way radio to communicate with other train employees to secure the area. We also hear an announcement in Spanish asking commuters to not attempt a rescue and let train personnel take control of the situation. There are visible signs on the platform informing people that anyone who jumps over the tracks will be penalized, but even though steps are being taken by authorized personnel, commuters grow impatient and take matters into their own hands.

The dog’s owner, a woman dressed in red, can be seen calling her dog and trying to catch him while the pet attempts to jump out of the tracks, but a security guard asks her to step away from the edge.

A young woman on the other side of the tracks is concerned about the dog’s life. No one knows for sure if incoming trains have been stopped and all commuters fear the dog will soon die. We can hear the young woman ask if the tracks are electrified and after someone says no, she jumps in, secures the pet and lifts him out of the tracks and into safety. The woman is then helped out of the tracks by the security guard.

Everyone is relieved the pet and the heroic woman were not harmed. Many say the woman was very courageous and her actions were what saved the pet. However, the metro line is penalizing the young hero for violating the law.

The metro line says that for the safety of everyone, the woman and all other commuters had to step back and allow authorized personnel to secure the train line first and then they would attempt a rescue. However, witnesses say train authorities did not respond on time and that’s why they stepped in.

Local animal lovers are now criticizing the metro line and the legal systems for penalizing the heroic woman for doing what they were afraid to do – risk their lives for the live of a dog.

  1. It’s sad to see there are idiots in this world who prefer to penalize an individual for saving an animal’s life instead of praising them.

  2. She did the right thing, if there was no danger to her, why the hell did the guy in the vest not rescue the dog, she is a brave woman and should not be punished for being a good human

  3. So, this is the law in Lima, Peru. Unfortunate…but people around the globe, thanks to the internet, are being made aware of these cruel laws. Transparency and awareness…two huge ingredients needed for change!

    1. Mary – I agree! I have already jumped in front of a car for my dog already and broke a finger for her. I would surely jump on tracks for my dogs!

  4. The public is outraged over the Metro fining her and have said they will contribute to help her pay her fines. I hope they come through for her.

  5. The train personnel knew the tracks were not electrified so what was taking them so long to do their duty of rescuing the dog? It was because of their inaction that drove the brave woman to save the dog. As for the dog owner, she should have leashed her dog.

  6. In a case to case basis we need to allow this situations…. that lady was a hero she did her best …stop penalizing her …the best things to do copy what Singapore had in all their railways “with barriers” for the safety of everyone including animals…

  7. That really sucks. Had she not saved the animal, for one the dog would have DIED, for two- so many people would have been traumatized seeing the death of a dog being splattered on the tracks, for three- the owner of the dog could have sued the train company for not allowing someone to save the poor dog, fourth a lot of people could have been hurt with the train trying to make a fast stop- then lawsuits would abound!! Freaking Idiots!!! That lady was a super hero to me! Thank you!!!

  8. I cant stand idiots!!! Next time a metro line big wig falls into the rails, leave them cause you might get in trouble for helping them.

  9. just as simple as that to save the dog then why the F*ck that security didn’t do anything tss… law? law my ass XD it took just a seconds dude! just a seconds! hahaha Carried away~

  10. So do people get penalties for savin a kids life too? Cause shitty guards didn’t act fast enough? Im so tired of people acting like dogs aren’t family too.

  11. I think the guy in yellow wanted to see the dog get hit. I mean look how he grabbed it by just one leg; he didn’t care about this dog’s well-being. What a jerk!

  12. Were they told not to go on the tracks? if it was not electrified they had stopped the train coming in too. It needs electric to run. The safety procedure may have a time scale. They also would have other checks before entering tracks. What if the train had killed this woman and a dog, also the impact could affect people inside the train. She did wrong not obeying orders. The dog was safe to wait , how did it get there? The owner too should either have a good explanation or not be allowed to keep a dog. It should not have entered the tracks either. Did it jump lead? was it a stray? People are quick to judge. It may go to hearing but if she learns why she is being fined it is for her safety and others. I am sorry but keep safe, for you and others.

  13. “for the LIFE of a dog”. That said, she did absolutely the right thing, and I would do the same in a heartbeat. We need to bring back common sense — especially where uncommon valor is involved!

  14. What’s wrong with the train authorities jumping down to get the dog? Way to go little lady! There’s very little connection between common sense, compassion, and action, in so many people! I applaud her; I’d have done the same thing!!!

  15. Anything to line the pockets, right? I bet she was glad to do it too! Poor puppy! They should have given her a medal or something….not a punishment! What’s wrong with people?????

  16. Worth every penny… South/Central America have a long way to go on the animal rights categories… This shouldn’t even be considered an issue.

  17. Here in Texas you could ask for a jury trial and would get it. I don’t see anyway of a guilty verdict except in Dallas and Austin, both uber-liberal cities.

  18. But if it were a child the entire crowd would be jumping in, security would be even more determined and to be penalized would be outrageous. But it’s just a dog.

    Humanity has gone completely fucked.

  19. I’m sure there are enough of us our here to pay the fine for her. She is a true hero and no matter what the cost, I would do this over and over again.
