Overcrowded shelters, let alone kill shelters, should not exists, but the sad reality is they do. More sad, the fact that thousands of dogs die in them every day. At the Lancaster Animal Services facility in California, a puppy and his mom hope to get pulled out of there together and very soon.
The two were picked up as strays on September 1, 2015, and they are very scared, but even though they are not sure what the future holds, the mother dog has been seen protecting and comforting her young pup.
A picture of the dedicated mother dog comforting her scared pup has been share hundreds of times on Facebook, and animal lovers are networking the pair hoping a reputable rescue comes forward to save them both.
For dogs, Animal Control facilities are scary places, yet this mother dog has found the courage to assure her baby they will be ok – even though she doesn’t know this.
No dog deserves to be forgotten in holding pen. Lets hope these two dogs get their wish and find the rescue they need soon.
Anyone interested in helping these dogs can inquire directly Los Angeles County Animal Control – Lancaster at (661) 940-4191. The dogs’ identification numbers are A4873042 and A4873043.
