One dog’s luck turned from bad to fortunate in just a matter of minutes after the pet was pulled from a canal. The pooch was tossed into the water duct by a heartless human, and fortunately, local firefighters pulled the dog to safety and found him a good home.

It all happened in Los Angeles, Chile, when the black and tan dog was tossed into the Quilque canal. Passerby witnessed how the dog whined and tried to climb out to safety, and authorities were called for help when they realized the pet wouldn’t be able to rescue himself.

Witnessed cheered and congratulated the heroes as the dog was rescued. Firefighters planned to take the dog to a nearby animal shelter, but one of the rescue witnesses volunteered to adopt the pet. Firefighters felt the willing adoption candidate met the requirements to give this dog a good home.

The dog was named Rescate (Spanish for rescue) and he now has a good loving home.
